Klemko Race Team began in the early 1970's by Mike Klemko as a dirt late model racing team out of Paris, WI. The team had much success racing in Southeastern WI and continued into the early 1980's. Mike's love for the sport never stopped, even after he sold his car. Mike and his son Chris attended the dirt track races almost every Saturday night during the summer months at various tracks across the state. Over the years Mike often talked about getting back into racing cars again. He supported his daughter, Natalie, in her cycling career and lived vicariously through her racing years on a bicycle.
After a two year battle with cancer, in August of 2012, Mike left us far too early for the big dirt track in the sky. After Mikes passing Chris started making plans on fulfilling his fathers dreams and bringing Klemko Race Team back to the track once again.
In May 2015, Klemko Race Team made there first appearance in over 30 years back racing at the home of dirt track racing Wilmot Raceway. Chris was part of the inaugural class for the Wisconsin WingLess Sprint Series. He is representing his dads colors and number racing the #70 non wing sprint car. In 2017, Chris's younger sister, Natalie, debuted on the track for her Rookie season in a wingless sprint car, #20.
Chris and Natalie are supported by 3 great crew members; Joe Panek, John Cronin and Kevin Hinich.
